Breeding Labrador Retrievers
(Artificial Insemination)
At Alderwood we have received many
requests to provide stud service for female Labs. In the past, we have attempted
to provide these services with mixed results. Problems of distance, nervous
dogs, timing of estrus, among other things, have caused us to rethink our
policy.
We charge a flat fee of $750 and ship the guaranteed semen to wherever you
designate on the day (FedX) you designate.
We were introduced to
Professor Carrol C. Platz, Jr. who is the founder of ICSB in Sandy, Oregon.
ICSB's program is based on techniques
developed by Prof. Platz. Through 28 years of research started at the
University of Oregon Medical School, Baylor College of Medicine, Texas A&M
University and continuing at the ICSB laboratories in Sandy, Oregon.
At Alderwood, we now
use the services of ICSB, exclusively, to provide stud service to those who are

Alderwood Breeding Services
We offer chilled semen to you or your veterinarian at the exact day or the day
before that you tell
us to have it arrive. Working with your vet or Service Technician, you determine
what the conception window is for you female, we then in turn, ship the semen to
arrive on or just before that day.
| Using The Puppy Pak®, provided by
ICSB, we provide the easiest technique and prevent damage to sperm
cells due to over handling during the collection, packaging and shipping
process. Easy to use - just 4
simple steps:
- Collect semen specimen from dog,
- Pour specimen into the media tube and cap,
- Place in the Puppy Pak® kit as instructed,
- Ship.
To inseminate, simply warm the cooled semen and
inseminate
ICSB Puppy Pak® biological shipping containers
are reusable. No need to buy an entire new kit each
time. All you need to order is the replacement media.
($23.00 each, plus shipping).
