Alderwood Labradors

Each litter of pups is unique at Alderwood - the problem is for the folks who try to choose.....such problems to have!

Lucie (click here for her profile) is a character! She was selected primarily for conformation and disposition and is certainly all of that. Her main job at Alderwood originally was intended to be a breeding female, however, the signs she is showing certainly qualify her, additionally, as a hunter/retriever. She is a VERY smart dog and has a wonderful disposition. Lucie loves the water and easily socializes with people and other dogs. She is very outgoing and friendly! She is also very curious, always looking up the side a steep hill, sticking her head down iin a hole or swimming across a pond to see what's on the other side. She is developing into a BEAUTIFUL Lab, has a very interesting "spirit" about her, full of life and always testing to see what she can get away with, but quickly obedient when she understands who is the boss. Doc (click here for his profile) - Doc is the Alpha male at Alderwood, a Classic Lab, large frame, well up on his legs. He stands 23 1/2 in. at the shoulder and weighed 110 lbs at 4 years old. A very strong swimmer and water dog, bred by Harry Larke at Willapa Bay Labradors, Doc is a good representative of strong classic American Lab heritage. We are now seeing that these same characteristics are being passed to many of his pups. Doc is a working hunter/retriever, and the best all around Lab I ever owned.
