Breeding Labrador Retrievers in Oregon with a primary emphasis on disposition. These Labs are not fancy line bred show animals, or high strung field champions, but bred to be great family pets and awesome hunting companions.
Adult dogs for Sale - from time to time we have an adult dog at Alderwood that for reason or another does not fit into what we are doing here. We wish we could keep them all, but that is simply not practical.

Perhaps it is a health issue or a breeding problem, sometimes we change the emphasis on the pups we want to offer and must change our breeding dogs to make that happen, sometimes age just creeps up. In any event, you will always know the exact reason we are offering a dog for sale. In most cases you are the winner when you consider the time, effort, dollars and training that we have invested. We bond to these dogs and want the very best for them when they leave here.

Wiley is a great dog. He was kept by us because of his size and demeanor. He is now 17 months old and we recently had his hips checked prior to using him to breed. OFA preliminary certification came back as "FAIR" this was a great disappointment to us. In consultation with our vet, we were told he could be used for breeding if he was bred to selected females OFA rated "GOOD" or better. This is something we don't feel is right to do, so we are going to sell Wiley. There is no sign of any hip problems, he runs and jumps as well as any dog here. He is well started in training for being a "duck dog", our intent was to partner him with Doc who is our Alpha male. Wiley is an excellent water dog, retrieves well, seems to mark well (not yet formally trained), has a good handle on basic obedience and in general, will make someone an excellent hunter/retriever after more formal training this summer. There are no bad habits, he has a great disposition, gentle and quiet, has never been kept in the house (always been in a kennel), is a real looker, slick dark chocolate brown coat, big boned and strong, currently weighs about 100 lbs. Wiley will be neutered before he is sold.
