Comments concerning dry foods we have
fed!
We have tried to learn much about commercially prepared dry
food. Feeding foods that cost as much as $25 for a 20 lb bag, becoming dealers
in an attempt to get better pricing and increase income and trying to supplement
with low priced human grade protein (turkey necks). I think we have finally
settled on a good feeding program that works for us......
Below you will find a list of foods that we have fed and have
knowledge in. Our comments are unscientific and probably quite subjective, but
we feed that we have given each of the foods mentioned a good test and have
tried to be objective in the results.

| Flint River Ranch |
sold on the basis of MLM (multi-level marketing) the concept
is to deliver a quality food direct to your door. This is a real good food, but I had difficulty getting my dogs to have a firm
stool, even feeding the recommended amounts. Had to stay on top of
ordering to be sure we had food on hand all the time. Dogs had plenty of
energy, coats were average. Cost is one of the highest.

| Canidae - All Life Stages |
sold in local feed and pet stores, we had difficulty finding a
source that would consistently have inventory to handle our needs.
Remember we are feeding 9 adult dogs and resulting puppies, so you might
not have this problem,
this a good food, if anything the dogs were not real fond of the
taste, but they ate it. Good health, good coats, advantage was they
promote one food for all life stages so did not have to inventory
separate puppy food, recently noticed undigested white particles in
dog's stool, company promised investigation, no response 5 weeks

| Purina Pro Plan |
sold in chain pet stores with attractive breeder
program
our dogs really did not like this food, and we had problems with a
couple dogs eating their poop. Coat luster dropped off and dogs seemed a
little less active, did not like this food. |

this food is sold through pet and feed stores, we became a
dealer to try to reduce cost, we found that freight costs and procedure
coupled with the cost of the food made feeding this food prohibitive. This is an excellent food, absolutely no problems with the food. I
would feed it if we could find a dealer/distributor to supply us
reasonably.

| Costco Kirkland Chicken & rice |
sold at Costco warehouses
this a good food, the cost and availability are excellent for us,
the dogs seem to do well on the food, The ingredient list is very
comparable with that of much higher priced foods. Had trouble with soft
stools and palatability with some of the dogs. |
Exclusive
Chicken & Rice |
this is a good food, relatively new in the marketplace, great
ingredient list, no soy which caused us to try this food over Nutro.
Dogs seem to like it, plenty of energy, currently testing this food
