Each litter at Alderwood has it's own characteristics and nature. We try to make the best match in our adult dogs to bring out the best of each in the pups.

Lucie (click here for her profile) is a character! She was selected primarily for conformation and disposition and is certainly all of that. Her main job at Alderwood originally was intended to be a breeding female, however, the signs she is showing at 13 weeks certainly qualify her, additionally, as a hunter/retriever. She is a VERY smart dog and has a wonderful disposition. Lucie loves the water and easily socializes with people and other dogs. She is very outgoing and friendly! He is also very curious, always looking up the side a steep hill, sticking her head down iin a hole or swimming across a pond to see what's on the other side. She is developing into a BEAUTIFUL Lab, has a very interesting "spirit" about her, full of life and always testing to see what she can get away with, but quickly
obedient when she understands who is the boss. Lucie has become one of the favorites at Alderwood

(click here for his profile) - is a newcomer here at Alderwood, a classic Lab, heavy set, very strong. He stands about 21 1/2 in (9 months old), at the shoulder and weighs 75 lbs at 9 months old. A good swimmer, we don't know much about his pedigree yet. Max is destined to be a breeding male at Alderwood and to work beside Doc and Lucie as a working hunter/retriever, time will tell much more.

these pups were born 1/21/2010 - there is a total of 12 and they are very consistant in size, seem to be very healty and active. They will be average size Labs about 75-80 lbs. She is a very protective mother at this point but it appears we have 10 males and 2 females, one chocolate and one yellow. There are also 4 yellow pups in this litter, which is unusual.
